My advice would be get a qualified instructor to give you a few lessons ... I don't think family are ever the best people to teach someone to drive.Trillian wrote:I've been kinda holding this in for a while. I personally hate driving so when it came to taking my drivers test I failed twice so far. The first time was because I didn't turn my head far enough to do lane checks, and the second time was because I accidentally jumped a curb on my Y turn. Recently my dad got a new job that makes it so he's never home much (and he was my driving teacher) and now he's saying that I have to pass because he's never going to be home to practice with me for another driving test. Also it doesn't help when he compares me with my older brother who passed on his first try. Altogether I have two days until I have my next test and I feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders... which kinda sound ridiculous.
That said ... best of luck with your test & try to relax (I know easier said than done!)

I agree with Fran. Family teaching you dosent work. My dad taught me how to shift, use the clutch, etc but for everything else I had to take a driving course. Same with my kids. I taught my kids the basics but they took the high school driving course. I dont know how it is where you live but in Utah if you pass the high school course you automaticlly get your licence. No tests, you just show them the school certificate and they give you the licence.Fran wrote:My advice would be get a qualified instructor to give you a few lessons ... Yeah, I'll ask my parents if they'll be able to fit me in the doctors within the holidays. It's getting pretty rough.Bighuey wrote:I dont know, man. Id get checked out just to be on the safe side.
