Wuthering Heights by Emily Brönte

Post by Simran Bakshi »

Wuthering Heights, according to me is probably one of the best books ever written. You don't fall in love with the tragedy, you don't fall in love with the beautiful potrayed scenes; you fall head over heels in love with the words, the words that paint the book that would become one of the greatest books ever written. Having read the book countless number of times, I am in love with this book. Every time I go back to the book, it moves me. It's not perfect, the story in my humble opinion isn't the best that we've come across, but the way Emily Brönte has written it.. it leaves me at a loss for words.. wondering who shares my love for this book

I do! The way Bronte experiments with narrative is fantastic. We essentially go through layers of story only to find that we do a full circle right back to the beginning. Heathcliff and Cathy are two of the most memorable characters in literature and their relationship is one of the most famous in Victorian literature. A real classic! :)
