"In Plain Sight" by Susan V. Mallett is a book that takes readers on a captivating journey through the challenges and opportunities that shaped our world in 2022. It's a short and sweet book that I couldn't put down, even though it delves into very niche topics that actually turn out to be much broader in their implications.

Mallett's book provides a visionary perspective on the year 2022, painting a vivid picture of a world grappling with climate change, economic inequality, and social unrest. While reading, I found myself immersed in the narrative, reflecting on my own role in shaping the future and realizing how even small actions can have a significant impact. The journal-like format with key dates weaves together various news threads to provide a comprehensive account of the year. It was easy to reference and go back to.

One of the strengths of this book is Mallett's ability to make complex topics accessible. She explores themes like sustainability, climate change, and social justice with clarity and depth, making them relevant and relatable to readers of all backgrounds. It was truly humbling to see how our present actions can send ripples of change into the future.

What sets this book apart is its focus on the psychological and emotional aspects of living in a world in crisis. Mallett delves into the emotional toll of the pandemic, from the constant anxiety it brought to the grief and loss experienced by many. She offers a diverse range of perspectives, from healthcare professionals to government officials and everyday citizens dealing with the pandemic, adding depth to her narrative. Her analysis of British politics, including the rapid succession of Prime Ministers, is particularly noteworthy. Her insights into the influence of multinational corporations and institutions on global affairs add depth to the narrative.

"In Plain Sight 2022" not only increased my understanding of global challenges and potential solutions but also motivated me to reflect on my principles and role in creating a better future. It piqued my interest in current social and environmental concerns, and it's clear that this book was professionally proofread. I couldn't find any errors, but I am admittedly not very familiar with UK spelling and other writing rules.

I highly recommend "In Plain Sight 2022" to anyone seeking a fresh perspective on our world's present and future. It's a wake-up call, both sobering and hopeful, reminding us of our collective responsibility to build a better world. This book is a commendable tribute to human ingenuity and resilience, inviting all of us to be active participants in the change we wish to see.

It's a captivating read and a must-read for anyone interested in a comprehensive understanding of the events of 2022, especially in relation to COVID restrictions, politics, and global affairs. A must read to grow wiser and more aware as human beings who lived these events. I wholeheartedly rate this book 5 out of 5.
