Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan definitely improved my vocab. But, I was in high school back then, so maybe you need much higher level than that.

Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn might be a fun one. It’s a world where each letter of the alphabet gets banned one by one. It’s in epistolary style (letters) and as the book goes on the characters have to get really creative with their use of words because certain letters are increasingly illegal.
