I appreciate your honesty and reflection on how science fiction has become more relevant to our lives, particularly in the context of AI. It's true that the growing presence of AI in our society is a topic that we will likely have to confront in the future. It can be overwhelming to think about the potential implications and challenges that arise from these advancements. However, I believe that one of the first steps we can take is to educate ourselves about AI and its potential impact. It's better to learn before we cast any judgement on this concept.Amy Luman wrote: ↑11 Jul 2023, 09:33For a long time I avoided sci-fi because I believed that it wasn’t relevant to my life. But…it is. Unfortunately, this is something we’re probably all going to have to face. Especially if the world as a whole doesn’t do something. I don’t know how to address the issue, though.Rosandra Hosein wrote: ↑10 Jul 2023, 22:44 Thank you for sharing your review of "The Prophecy of the Heron" by Craig Stanfill. I appreciate your analysis and the recommendation to read both books in the series. I like the whole concept of an AI-dominated society. The story line sounds pretty engaging, I may add this to my reading list.![]()

I’m afraid that I know lots of people that will cast judgement without knowing the facts, though.I personally believe that AI could be a big help in lots of areas. This technology could do lots of jobs quicker, cheaper, and without the mistakes associated with humans. Unfortunately, that’s a big issue for some.Rosandra Hosein wrote: ↑13 Jul 2023, 13:32I appreciate your honesty and reflection on how science fiction has become more relevant to our lives, particularly in the context of AI. It's SO possible!Diana Lowery wrote: ↑14 Jul 2023, 15:44 I love the heron on the cover of this book, and I loved reading the book 1984, but sometimes this genre terrifies me because the scenarios are so possible.

I thought it was wonderful, but my husband wasn’t a bit interested!Catherine Radford wrote: ↑18 Jul 2023, 01:39 I’d always been intrigued by this book - the cover doesn’t really give anything away and leaves you guessing what they story will be about.
