This sounds like a welcome diversion from my usual action/thriller books. I like to take a break occasionally and dive into something totally different and learn and this sounds like a great opportunity. Great review and description of the book. Another great title to add to my ever growing list of books to read.

It is very inspirational and you will absolutely see a different culture. I can't recommend Elastic Girl enough!

That is so heartbreaking to grow up with the understanding that your family is "cursed" because you were not a boy. Sadly, this is the reality for so many children in the world. It's clear that such ideas took a toll on the main character. I'd like to read more to hear about how she was sold into the circus. Thank you for writing this review and sharing your thoughts.
