Although as a new author I am sure that she will get better at titling her books. Really intrigued by this one and would like to read it I think. I enjoy mystery and much of them do not have much humor, so I'm definitely looking forward to that. Thanks for a great review!

The title and the artwork don’t suggest it, but the first few pages were ominous. The only thing I could think of is that sometimes small towns do quite a bit of cover up to those things that are a bit dark. (Like martial affairs and such) So the title and book illustration doesn’t match the content similar to that. Anyway, I was a bit hooked by the sample pages and your review just helped me determine I must read it. I like mysteries with a touch of humor. Thank you for the insight on this one.
I know what you mean. The prologue has a dark tone that isn't reflective of the overall book. Thanks for your comment.

The protagonist also seems like a strong-willed personality who's ready to achieve her goals against all odds. Anyone could learn a thing or two from her drive.

This was such an insightful review, thank you and best regards.

I couldn't agree more that the title isn't really the best, but I was hooked after reading only a small portion. Thanks for the review!

A mystery combined with humour and eccentric characters would make a great read for many. I sampled it and the most attention-grabbing part for me was the character of protagonist. I think the title and cover make this book seem uninteresting. Thanks for the detailed and a very well-written review.

Great review. This is the kind of book that may not appeal immediately but I'm always up for a surprise. Based on this review, I think I would definitely add this book to my list.

A mistery novel with a little bit of quality humour sounds great. I already like and admire the main character, Harley, just from reading your review. She sounds like the kind of person who is smart enough not to let small minded people put her down. I would like to read the book and i'm sure I will like her even more. The other characters sound inteeesting as well. Thank you for the review!

A book-loving distiller set out to solve a murder mystery in a small town. I like the protagonists powerful character, the humor in the book, and the well-driven narrative.
Feeling upset sometimes may be unavoidable, but acting distressed is always optional.

Not what I thought it would be about based on the title, but still looks like a good read. The humor in it sounds great. I'd really like to read this one. Great review.

I found the sample superb. There's mystery, humor, and little-town charm in there. And no grammar flaws! Harley is some heroine. I hope to meet her and her quirky cohorts soon.

I love a great book that keeps you guessing, weaves a complicated plot, and even has a bit of humor in it. From the review it sounds like this one is just such a book and the Mystery in Notchey Creek seems like it may need to be my next read.

I agree with you that the title does seem to give it a different impression, though I am excited to read this story based upon your review. I like PG humor and I love the Stephanie Plum novels so this seems to be a great fit for me. Thank you for your thoughts!
