No Fran they are not confining, unless of course I am reading them in a cave.

I don't like bats either, especially because they are carriers of the lyssavirus. Growing up we had a crazy aunty who loved bats and kept a heap as pets. We called her the crazy bat lady.

Bats are a protected species here in Ireland ... I don't believe I have ever actually seen a live one (or a dead one either for that matter).
But in reality they are probably a whole lot more afraid of us than we are of them.

Nope. I have never given a bat the Screaming Meemies. Or the Heebie Jeebies, or the Creepy Icky Yuck Tremors. They just fly away wondering who that crazy woman is.Fran wrote:@TralalaTralala wrote:Caves have bats in them. I'm staying out of caves, too.

I can not stand to sit on couches, beds, or carpets that are public or owned by people who I don't know very well. I can not sleep in Hotel/motel beds. Period. When I'm on trips I have to sleep fully clothed, socks and all, with my own pillow and blanket. The hotel bed sheets and blankets can NOT be touching me. On the rare occasion when I have forgotten my pillow and blanket I tuck my knees all the way up to my chest and barely cover my legs with the top sheet to keep from freezing.
One year my family went on vacation and we stayed in a 5 star hotel. I slept in an armchair covered in the beach towels that the family brought. Mostly that was due to the fact that the first room we were given had vomit all over one side of one of the beds. UGH!
Holes in fabrics freak me out. I can't shop in thrift stores usually... used fabric gives me the heeby jeebies, and if there's a HOLE anywhere in the fabric, it makes me want to cry.
The very idea of there being a hole in my bedsheets makes me queasy. If I imagine my bare toe slipping through the hole in the sheets I can't stand it!
I also hate cabs for this same fabric reason.

I also have a phobia of the sun. It's not a really serious condition where I can't go outside or anything, it's just that sometimes I have panic attacks when the sun's really bright. Normally I can ignore the fear and just try and keep to the shade, but sometimes it gets out of hand...
And of course, my strange fear of mirrors. Of course I hate my own reflection (hahaha I know I'm ugly, no matter how many people tell me I'm not) but I always imagine someone else behind me. When I look into the reflection, I manage to make simple shapes and shadows look like figures and monsters, and I get a bit freaked out.
