It sounds as though this fast-paced action novel also has excellent character portrayal. I think it is a book I would highly enjoy. Thanks for the wonderful review!

I love PI books! I look forward to digging into this case with Max and Nick. Dani seems to be a Nancy Drew in the making. Will Sophie heed the voice of reason?

Sounds like an interesting read and you brought enough details to light the way for my rainy day reading list on Kindle. Thanks for the detailed review.

I’m not really interested in the thriller genre, but some of the characters sound well-developed. I don’t like all the foul language either, so I’ll probably pass. Nice review though!

Wow! What an awesome review! Thank you and keep it up!

Today's BOTD is a crime thriller with well-developed characters and a fast-paced plot. Although it is Book 4 in a series, it sounds like it could stand-alone. However, with action like this, I want to check out the others and start at the beginning with Book 1! Thank you again for the review and recommendation and congrats to the author on the perfect rating! :-)

Thanks for the interesting review! This sounds like a great read. I like PI books sometimes and this one certainly sounds interesting! Sophie sounds like a lady who wanted to fight against getting older so she bought into the wiles of a younger man who just wanted to use her. Believe it or not, it happens to older women all the time in reality. So that aspect of the story makes it realistic. Thanks for the recommendation!

Storyline sounds very intense in this book. And really appealing despise the fact I am not all that interested in the subject of prostitution. But after reading review I really wanna know how will it all play out for main characters in the end))

The plot sounds refreshingly different. As a reviewer you seem to have looked at all the characters in a critical way, assessing how and if they sound genuine. I would personally like to start from book one in the series.

There were several high points for me in this book. The character development was superb. None of the characters appeared out of place. They each served a unique purpose, with adequate backstories for their motives to be understood
I read the Sample of this book before coming to your review and even though this book and genre in general is not to my taste, I totally understand what you mean about the characters. Even in the Prologue it only took a few sentences before I had the impression I was standing near by watching two people have a conversation.

I don't think I'll be reading this book, especially if some of the content would "make a nun blush" (and believe me, they don't blush at much), but I do appreciate reading another of your great reviews. And if I may be personal for a moment, your countenance and big smile on your profile picture is so "welcoming" it feels like I'm getting the straight scoop from a friend, not a stranger.

Sincerely, Laura-Lee :text-thankyoublue: :greetings-wavingyellow:
Thank you so much! You’ve put another big smile on my face :D XOXO

Thanks for a thorough review! This looks like my kind of book - I love mystery and intrigue. However, I'm not too fond of the graphic sex that is found in some books. You didn't mention that in your review, so I'm going to assume that it isn't too bad. It's going on my TBR shelf for a nice snowy evening's entertainment.

Laura Lee wrote: 12 Jan 2020, 14:47 Excellent review! This isn't my typical genre, but I really like your description of all the thematic elements that make it a good read, as well as your analysis of it. And, just in case no one else has mentioned it, Albert Camus is an historical figure. He was a French philosopher and writer. He actually won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1957. He died in 1960, so I'm wondering when this story was set. What decade? I guess I'll go read the sample pages to find out. :D
Thank you for your kind words, and also for this enlightening piece of information. I had no idea.

It seemed to be a story of a woman on her way to heartbreak, refusing to believe the truth despite the evidence presented to her. What a cruel price to pay just to be happy! I am excited to dig into this novel to find out how the younger lover will get his comeuppance! Congrats to the author!
