I have also learned about "opera" as a subgenre of the sci-fi genre.
However, the chain of causality in some of your arguments is weak, like in:
.The protagonists are mostly humans, and that gives us the idea of their difficulties in dealing with aliens.
Also, repeating the same structure "and that gives us the idea" a very short distance is a bit tiresome.

The official name of this subgenre is space opera, but it is definitely full of adventure. Thank you for your comment.
