Human cloning and futuristic settings usually aren't very appealing to me, but this book stands out. The themes of human rights, slavery, and abuse permeate the plot in an intriguing way; it is sad to think that these are still foreseeable issues in the future, but I can't disagree. I was disappointed when I finished reading the sample and craved more. Your compelling review solidifies my interest! Thanks for the recommendation.

You almost want to cover your eyes because you don't know if you can stand it.
I love that you say this :lol2: There is nothing better in a sci-fi or fantasy novel than this feeling; that's how you know it's really gripping (and disturbing)! I also like that you give a fair analysis of whether this novel is primarily character driven. I find that interesting Austin describes it this way, as science fiction is usually pretty heavy in plot; I'm glad to see you say there are some surprises in store.

Been excited to read this book for awhile, but wanted to wait for April and it to be BOTM just for the fun of it and to share on the forum discussion. Wanted to read through the review first, so thanks for doing such a great job and getting me so pumped to read it.

Incredible! So how do these authors get their inspiration for pictures from the future? It's really scary. This is a good review.

Project Tau by Jude Austin - A sci-fi thriller with characters who are cloned and then trained. But the projects, Tau and Kata, suddenly show many human characteristics. Very thought-provoking. Thanks for the excellent review. I loved this description by the reviewer. "You keep reading, though it's almost with one eye shut."

This science fiction novel about cloning sounds suspenseful. The author not only adds suspense but adds a little grim humor to lighten the content of the story. Congrats on the book of the day. Great review.

Who breaks into a secret facility? There must have been a catch. I will definitely enjoy an eye-catching book with little bit of humour. I don't also mind the mature content. Thanks for the review!

Austin enslaved my mind and taste in this one.The suspense, the imaginary effects it had on me,it is an absolute delight. Intriguing as Kalin and his partner takes on a revenge mission, well deserved by the Gentech Laboratories for their unethical consideration for human life.

The book does sound interesting, especially the issues of cloning and human rights etc. You mentioned 'mature themes,' thank you for mentioning it as it does put me off reading some books. Your review was thorough...thanks so much for the interesting review

I agree that cloning is in the not too distant future. However, I'm not "into" this genre, and I have so many other books on my TBR shelf, so I'm passing on this one. Looks like a good one for those who like sci-fi! Good review!

Great science fiction! I can imagine the morbid fascination. I would have loved to read this, but encountered some profanity in the sample.

Thank for this review. This book reminds me of a Doctor Who episode with Matt Smith where they make the clones do the dangerous jobs and don't recognize them as people.

As a fan of sci-fi books about things that actually could happen, like cloning, I may give this one a look. I find the ethical and moral dilemmas attached to this issue very interesting. Thanks for the review, kandscreeley. :techie-studyingbrown:
