From my experience, the grandparents seem to be the primary caregivers most of the time due to the parent's financial circumstances when the child is still young (Unable to pay for aftercare/daycare). This inflates the target audience 10 fold and I am sure that all those that work with children will find this book useful. Thank you for the great review! Happy reading

The author outlines many reasons for this and helpfully cites the research and studies from which she got her information. It seems that there are a lot more GRG than I thought. My own family has had this happen and I wish we had known about this book while living it. I think the positive attitude and love for the kids first and foremost that the author shows is impressive. I know that people who find themselves in this situation can benefit from this book and the many resources given in it.
