Your review is very detailed and organised on the several strong points the book under consideration holds.
As a non-manager, I appreciate the section dedicated to the prospective readers: in-service and would-be managers are mentioned with the benefits the book brings to all.
The other sections are also important and so is your mentioning them, such as the one about mistakes. Mistakes are a valuable source of learning, indeed.
I envy you for your eagerness to read the book over and over again.
Thank you for the comprehensive review!

What I like is that this book is a story of the author's actual life experiences and not some textbook theories and concepts that readers may find difficult to apply in real life.

The author's discovery of his musical abilities at age 62 is impressionable. It shows that it's never too late for self-discovery.

On a lighter note, Mastran went from military to management and then to music... I can't help but wonder what is his deal with the letter 'M'. 😃

This book is about management, and I applaud the author for his skill and experience in this area. I myself have never been a manager, and I never want to be. Who would want that much responsibility and headaches? I have been a supervisor of 50 people in a work center before, and believe me, that was experience enough for a lifetime.

In a manner, I have managed people in volunteer organizations; if you think that isn't a major headache, then think again. Imagine having to influence people from different backgrounds and work ethics, to complete an assignment, having to work long hours, without pay, and you can see what a struggle it might be to overcome.

However, once it all comes together, it makes you proud not only of yourself, but of those that you were able to influence.

This is an excellent book, as it makes you consider the possibilities...

Thank you for your review of a book I am not sure I would otherwise be interested in reading. I like that you shared he used his own life experiences to show how to improve management skills.

This sounds like a book that all managers should read and learn from. I have had many managers who could benefit from this book. I know I can as well even though I don't manage people at a job. Thanks for the honest review.

The author seems very knowledgeable. While these types of books don’t typically intrigue me, I always admire people who can write educational novels like this. I did like how he went over the history of management. That’s not something I’ve ever thought of and it was interesting to think on. Definitely sounds like this would be a useful read for anyone needing advice on management.

Looks like a good resource for true managers! You are right, That Reviewer. The author, David as an experienced tycoon in the market; he understands the real needs of every manager. Nice to see the book is composed of several lessons useful for different categories of managers — unit managers, departmental managers, and senior managers.

The book seems to offer an undeniable dream of mine to see inside the mind of a successful person and at the same time gives us a way to understand them. This is undeniably a must-read for everyone who wants to take their company to their desired heights. Also, your review is quite elaborate and insight full.
All your scholarship, all your study of Shakespeare and Wordsworth would be vain if at the same time you do not build your character and attain mastery over your thoughts and your actions.

I could have used this book back in the day before I retired from the workforce. This appears to be a terrific approach toward management and back then would have been a worthwhile addition to my collection of management and leadership books. Congrats to the author on his achievement and kudos to the reviewer for an excellent presentation.

I have always desired to have a team of people working with me but I have also desired that my managerial skills will not be the normal but something that will not only improve productivity but also be of great benefit to the employees so I will be excited to glean from the experience of an already successful CEO.
