Non fiction books are not my cup of tea, besides I'm not so interested in business. But I've read the review and the book does seem pretty informative and substantial. It is really good that the author provides the upsides and downsides of management so people will learn a lot from the book and will probably avoid the mistakes in their future carreers. I was traveling inside the mind of a successful executive. From military to management to music business, amazing! I like how this book is giving points to ponder, especially when mistakes are made. I can say that the author is a good motivator and has enough courage and determination to be able to reach his goal — to have a business.

Thanks for the review! My husband might be interested in Mr. Mastran's "wealth of experience" and "vital insights that every manager needs" as he does have his own business; maybe I could get it as a gift for him. Being one of those books that you can read many times and glean new information everytime, it would make a great stocking-stuffer or present under the tree, this year. I am simply a homemaker and have no interest in being a CEO or in some other managerial position. I'm sure that the book will be helpful for people who do aspire to or currently hold such positions, and I will buy it for my husband.

I'm not an entrepreneur so, I think I'll pass on this one.

Having said that, from your review, it does seem like a very hands-on practical guide for would-be managers and budding/ established entrepreneurs. I find the five mistakes managers make, for example, quite insightful and very useful in any capacity of management.

Business management doesn't interest me, so I won't be picking this one up. It looks like it was professionally edited, though. The author organized the lessons well, too.
