Though I am not business-oriented or business-minded, the author made several good points that made me think. For one, the author gave the example of how he had reserved an SUV from a rental company, yet there were no SUV's available when he arrived. The company only had mini-vans available and made no attempt to satisfy the customer, which was interpreted as poor customer service. Something the author mentioned that the Disney corporation would never tolerate.

The author repeated the following quote: "It's not about directly adopting what Disney does in their business, it's about adapting the lessons for your business."

For anyone considering starting their own business, or maybe just improving how they do business, this book will provide some good no-nonsense advice and is an enjoyable read.

I like the idea of the quotes for each chapter but I don't think Mr. Disney should be taken as an example. He was the only one in the entertainment industry to receive Leni Riefenstahl, Hitler's filmmaker, and he treated his employees poorly.

Very insightful for those in business. We are all in business one way or the other, so yes, it applies. I pick one concept: work to retain customers. New customers may come and go, but those that have developed trust and worth in you will come over and over. Lock has done justice to Marketing using Walt Disney business peculiarities.
