Such a terrifying and sad beginning when the only thing that seems to give you hope is taken away in such a painful manner. How does killers live, really? I hope Sean survives the deadly disease. Murder mystery is one of my favorite genres to read. Also having characters that draw you in and make you feel a connection is a must when it comes to any type of story. Whether you love then, feel sorry for them or just plain loath them. You've got to have some affinity for them to make it work.

This is a thriller of a story and makes me think about the HBO crime dramas that I have watched recently. I like that the author was so skilled at his craft that he kept you guessing as who the killer might be. I always like to read books that keep me guessing until the end and has me at the proverbially edge of my seat. The plot line that involves Sean and his cancer diagnosis also adds more depth to the story because you get to see him at his most vulnerable.
