I enjoyed the historical romance. Although Lily is trapped in the life of a slave, she is not without friends, one such friend being her master’s son, James. This is a very engaging plot.

She got separated from her mother after getting sold at an auction. Luckily, her master's son begins to like her. The book appears quite entertaining.
