This is an exciting novel about the actions of Islamic extremists and individuals who hate America. Reza Jafari, whose family was killed in Iran because of their Islamic extremist values, links up with Juan, who lost his entire family to a massacre by the CIA. Together, Reza and Juan decide to destroy America’s economy because of their experiences with America. The duo made plans to produce anthrax to carry out several terrorist attacks in stores and warehouses across the USA.

After these attacks, the spores from the anthrax spread, and many deaths were recorded. These deaths spark a nationwide manhunt for the terrorists responsible for these deaths. Every security agency and personnel in the country is involved in this search, including Dale, Walmart's head of security; Alex, Walmart's head of legal department; and Sarah, who's married to Dale and works for the FBI. Does life ever return to normal for Americans after these attacks? Are Reza and Juan ever caught?

We Survived was a fantastic read. I enjoyed how the author, C. Ross Dutton, created a detailed story about America's survival efforts following a large-scale terrorist attack. The author's depictions took into account modern-day America and its economy, the efforts by the terrorists to destabilize the economy, and America's efforts to bring them to justice. In simple terms, this was a tale of diligence, betrayal, terrorism, love, and patriotism.

What I liked most about this book was how Dutton gave us a backstory about the lives of the major characters, especially Reza and Juan. It helped me make better sense of these characters' decisions throughout the story. I also liked how Dutton gave in-depth descriptions of the actions that took place in the book. A few good examples of this include how Juan constantly evaded capture and the details of anthrax production.

As good as the descriptions were in this story, I feel like there were some minor holes in the plot. For instance, I couldn't understand how Juan knew that Sarah was on his trail. I also wasn't satisfied with how the author summarized some portions of the story that I considered essential; this dampened the plot's suspense a little bit. Still, these are just minor bumps in a good story.

This story was exceptionally edited; I found no grammatical errors while reading. I rate it 3 out of 4 stars because of the plot holes and slightly under-utilized suspense. I recommend it to people who love a good investigative story with elements of war, terrorism, and patriotism.

This story feels gripping to some extent, but as the reviewer mentioned it has some plot holes I think it's better if I try something else. Thanks for the honest review.

I don't appreciate the stereotype of people that assume that any terrorist attack is done by Muslims, why don't people write about the terrorist attacks done by other religions or countries in Muslim countries, it's a shame, really.

This sounds a little bit like the Lara and Uri novels and I loved those. I think I’ll read it. Terrorist activity always seems to interest me. Thanks for the review!

I think this highlights what happens when people put religious biases and other personal interests over the survival of a state. Thank you for the review.

through the review we feel that there is a lot of action in the book. Events such as terrorist attacks always prompt a subsequent manhunt to track down those responsible. Who says manhunt says a lot of action. This is the kind of book that is adapted to the action film. I love this. Thank you!

This book seems to me like a copy of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series books. Even the plot very much lines up, namely with the use of bioweapons against the US and a plot to affect its economy. Thanks for the review Jachueke.

This book portrays the survival of Americans after the anthrax production but doesn't seem to talk about the survival of the terrorists after what they faced in their country which led to their vengeful hatred. Thanks for the review anyway.

This seems like a suspenseful story well constructed upon the current issues with fundamentalist terrorism, though the scale of the attack is huge. Thank you for your great review!

Come to think of it, Walmart does seem like a fertile setting for a biological terrorist attack of the U.S. I enjoyed reading your review very much. Thank you!
