Re: Review of The Three Little Monsters and the Cranky King
The first thing I noticed while reading this book was how well it illustrated the characters and their surroundings. The illustrations were done in black and white, with simple lines giving each character a unique look. This made them easy on the eyes while also capturing their personalities through their facial expressions and clothing choices.
The second thing I noticed while reading this book was how well it demonstrated some common themes found in children's literature such as loyalty, friendship and family bonds. The main theme of this story is loyalty between friends (which is shown through their shared love for gold). It also shows how even those who are not related by blood can still share similar values (as seen through how they work together).
