When someone clearly sees me reading and still tries to have a conversation with me.

I hate when I'm at work on my break and this stupid guy that I work with always wants to come up to me and start talking. I usually try to ignore him, but most of the time it doesn't work because he has such a loud mouth! How can people be so rude? They can clearly see that you're trying to read, yet they come over and start talking anyways.

When my Kindle dies after I've ignored the 'low battery' warning for days. This one is particularly annoying because I have no one to blame but myself.

Yeah, that drives me nuts. Nothing pulls you out of the world they've created and you've moved into in your mind like typos and grammatical errors. Especially when the story is interesting and there are a lot of errors. After a while I just want to throw my book but as it's on my ereader, that would be disastrous.
When you're wrong, your really wrong. When you're right, you're a pain in my a$$.

I hate any interruptions when I've just settled down to read. If I've been at it for a good thirty minutes or more, then by all means. But while I'm first immersing myself, it drives me nuts to get drawn away from the page too quickly.

People talking to me when they see I'm reading but my biggest annoyance is that reading makes me sleepy so I can't lay in bed and try to get a lot of reading done because I'll fall asleep :(

People talking to me, probably. Or work. *grumble grumble*

Story of my life. It always starts with "hey what book are you reading?" I lift the book so they can see the cover while i keep reading and then they decide that it would just make my day if they had a half-hour conversation about the author. I love book talk, don't get me wrong. But if you spoil my reading time I just may turn into the hulk...

I could post a reply to this topic once a week just to blow off steam. In general, I find that people are just louder than they used to be. They will play their music next to you, or have a conversation while you are reading a book with no understanding that you are involved in a cognitive learning skill that requires concentration. So when I pick a beautiful spot on a cliff by the beach and I'm reading quietly on a sunny afternoon and a family with a crying baby and a dog decides "to share" my spot, I'm not a happy camper.

Nor am I impressed with people who want an instant review of the book I am reading. I doubt anyone else reads for the same reasons I do; we are all different creatures and that's the beauty of reading.

But I have to get to the greatest annoyance of all...time! There just isn't enough time to read all the books and other material I want to. And I will need at least another two or three lifetimes to get through all the works of all the humans who have produced works worthy to be read!

Always knowing there are other things I need to be doing instead of reading...no matter how good the book is, there's always work to be done...

When my husband and children feel I have read too much for the day so they see what that can do bother me.
