I wasn't really aware that there was a first book. Now I can't stop thinking about it and I have to go get myself a copy to read. I'm hooked to this series.

I checked Amazon and it turns out this is part of her "Legends of the Grail" series. I might give her other books a read and see if it changes how I see Nimue!
Thank you so much for mentioning that this book is part of the 'Legends of the Grail' series! I've been trying to find it, and now I'm excited to explore this book and see how it changes my perspective on Nimue.
No worries Anu :) I'd be keen to hear what you think of the earlier book as well.

I also thought this was the first book. I usually start with the first, if I can. I'm not reading this one very fast. I wonder if I'd enjoy it more if I read the first one first.

This isn't the first book? I'm intrigued and would like to read it immediately. I wonder how it affects my relationship with the characters.

I didn't know there was a first book, this is a great standalone, but now I am curious to read the first one.

I wasn't aware there was a first book. This book sounded pretty standalone to me.

I tried to find the first book, but instead found a book of Celtic legends by the same author. Are we sure there's a first book? Does anyone know the name of it?

I'm as surprised as everyone else that there is another book before this. I've looked it up and the earlier books are around Celtic Goddesses and Heroines. Freeing Merlin seemed such a central plot point that I thought any other books would continue in this vein, but it sounds like whilst the books do interrelate, this is not a central theme throughout the series.

There is a first one before this? Oh, I didn't know. I think going back to start with the first one would help fill some minor blanks.

It's interesting to learn about the first book, which I wasn't aware of before. I was impressed with Nimue: Freeing Merlin as a standalone story, but knowing that there's a prequel, I might give it a read. Overall, I enjoyed Nimue and I'm looking forward to exploring more of the author's work.

I was aware of a series of what I'd describe as "interrelated books" that could be enjoyed independently, so I didn't delve deeply into them. I'm intrigued to hear the perspectives of others, particularly in contrast to Nimue.

Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that there was a book preceding this one. I would certainly love to read the first book as it would provide a much deeper understanding of the story.
