Congratulations on BOTD. Devil among us by Jack Winnick is part of a series of book on terrorism and it's impact. Lara an FBI agent is involved in solving a suicide bombing case that has happened in a Jewish congregation. The blast had resulted in death of innocent lives. She is told to get in touch with Mossad agent for the purpose of investigation.
The review provided is crisp and detailed. It also mentions that it is a part of a series of novel which I am very much excited to read.
Killing of Jews has happened since decades. They have been the targets of many. Don't know if the two state solution can actually save lives.

I approached "Devil Among Us" by Jack Winnick with some apprehension, particularly in today's climate where discussions around geopolitical conflicts can be sensitive and polarizing. The prospect of encountering a potentially pro-Zionist, anti-Palestinian perspective in the novel raised initial concerns for me. However, as I delved into the free chapters, I found myself pleasantly surprised by the author's approach.

One aspect that immediately caught my attention was Winnick's dedication to explaining customs, holidays, and the diverse nuances among different Jewish descendants. This cultural exploration not only added depth to the narrative but also hinted at a commitment to providing a more well-rounded and nuanced portrayal of the characters and their backgrounds.

The plot, involving a family masquerading for years and sacrificing their son for a cause with the sole purpose of taking lives, is undeniably chilling. It's a premise that forces readers to confront the moral complexities embedded in the storyline. As I progress through the book, I'm eager to see how Winnick handles the intricate relationships and motivations at play.

Given the geopolitical nature of the narrative and the author's background as a Middle East scholar, I'm particularly interested in how "Devil Among Us" addresses the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The potential impact on readers' perceptions of this complex issue adds an additional layer of intrigue to the story. While the free chapters have been engaging so far, I'm curious to see whether the novel perpetuates stereotypes or offers a more nuanced understanding of the geopolitical landscape.

In a world where political tensions are high, I believe it's crucial for literature to approach such topics with sensitivity and balance. As I continue my reading, I'll be attentive to how the novel navigates these themes, and I look forward to sharing a more comprehensive review as I progress through "Devil Among Us."

I appreciate that all of the books in this series can be read as stand-alones. That being said I can tell that just like its predecessors this is going to be a gripping and hard to put down kind of novel. I'm curious to see how our favourite duo will save the world in this one.

I totally agree with you, "Support doesn't mean just supplying weapons". Another captivating book in the Lara and Uri series, action oriented, intriguing plot, suspense and mysteries. It really does have it all. Exciting read. Congrats on a great review.

Thank you for the wonderful review, indeed, without spoilers but with enough information to make "Devil Among Us" by Jack Winnick an absolute must read! It is so strange to know this book was written about a decade ago but the conflicts continue in the Middle East and they have been ongoing since the beginning of recorded history and even longer. Perhaps books like this where Lara and Uri get together to solve problems can show the world a way to get along better because the way of war and disagreement is just useless.

Thank you for this excellent review; I have read many reviews for this book, but yours was among the best. Devil Among Us by Jack Winnick is a thrilling, fast-paced novel with Lara and Uri working together to combat terrorist activities. From the time I first sampled Winnick's books, I have been waiting to review them. I enjoy how his books open with an explosive event and grab the reader's attention from the beginning. For instance, this one begins with a suicide bombing attack in a Jewish synagogue, leaving behind terrible devastation. Congratulations on the BOTD!

It's a good thing that despite being the second book in a series, the novel can be read and understood on its own. I am most fascinated by the public's reaction to the bombing incident that ripped through a New York City synagogue, especially since a wave of fear could have economic and social repercussions.
Congratulations to the author for BOTD!

Jack Winnick's “Devil Among Us,” the second installment in the Lara and Uri series, impressively weaves together spy thriller elements and intricate plot details. The narrative, rooted in the aftermath of a suicide bombing at a New York synagogue, ventures beyond the typical genre conventions. The exploration of the terrorist threat against the USA is seamlessly integrated with a compelling storyline that delves into the personal and professional lives of the characters. The author's ability to transcend the boundaries of a traditional spy thriller elevates the novel, offering readers a more nuanced and thought-provoking experience. Nice review.

Lara and Uri. They are a strong team, that work very well together, both on the professional and private level. Watching their relationship rekindle was only one of the many highlights of the story. It's a good love thriller with love Although this book can be read as a standalone, the chemistry between these two makes me want to read more
