Great review, war life can be very challenging especially to those that have soldiers as relatives go for war, they literally lose self and touch with themselves and loved ones, their life is retouched because of certain experiences. Great read.

We need to talk more, read more, and write more about the aftermath of trauma and the psychological cost of war. I hope Kelly found peace and his California dream. Great review!

[/quote]Thank you for the impressive review of this book. While I don't usually like reading about the horrors of war, this book has peaked my interest because of the historical parts of it. I am history lover and a romance sap, so a book with both sounds like something right up my alley. Congratulations on earning the BOTD!

The book's exceptional writing and editing, coupled with its emotional depth, make it a standout in the romance genre. I look forward to picking up a copy and delving into Kelly's compelling journey.

Thank you for the thoughtful recommendation. As a fan of romance fiction and someone interested in military life narratives, this seems like a perfect addition to my reading list.

I'm not a big fan of novels whose sole subject is romance, but I do like novels that are emotional. This book seems to be very emotional and deals with complex subjects such as trauma. I am very curious to learn about it. Books that deals with complex topics that also include romance are definitely something that I would be interested in reading. Congrats on BOTD!

"Grunnell Desjarlais's "Saving KC" Kelly is the subject of an intriguing book. As a little boy, Kelly dreamed of moving to California. Following her military enlistment and mission-related disappearance, she fell in love with Rita. What soldiers are going through is chronicled in this book. Reading this author's work is made easier by her excellent writing style.

Thank you for your thoughtful review on, "Saving KC" by Grinnell Desjarlais. I find this an interesting read as it encompassed Kelly's experience as POW (prisoner of war), when he was found, then his returned back home and recovery. It is a very difficult time for Kelly especially when he finds that his fiance, who was told he had died, married someone else. Things are looking up for Kelly when he meets KC, a woman of a duo singing group. You will need to buy the book, which is at a temporary low price at Amazon. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

The start of the book, where Kelly was found three years after being taken captive, was heartbreaking. His trip to California and meeting Rita, were captivating. War is very cruel and one can understand the huge trauma that it causes. Thank you for the insightful review.

Kelly's story from love to the army and back sounds like a real page-turner. Big props to Grinnell Desjarlais for showing the struggles soldiers go through. Giving it a solid 5 stars has me eager to check it out – love a book that grabs you from the start.

And Kelly finding love again after all the ups and downs? I'm sold! Your recommendation for romance fans and those curious about military life is right on the money. Thanks for the heads-up about the timeline stuff; I'll keep an eye out.

It is not often that I discover books that involve military trauma and newfound love. The adjustment period for soldiers after they have been to war is also not talked about enough, and the author has done well to discuss it. Thanks for the review!

This intriguing romance novel caught my attention. It appears to have a unique premise, centering around the lives of soldiers and the aftermath of their missions. What's particularly interesting is the way the author has blended this with the romantic element, creating a story that seems to offer a perfect balance of action and emotion. I'm excited to delve into this book and see where the story takes me.
