Thank you for your great review. While this isn't my favorite genre, I do enjoy it occasionally. I found myself sampling several chapters and finding it a fast read that was hard to put down. I am curious to find out who done it and who all are suspects. I do hope it wasn't the son. What an interesting backstory too. I agree the character development was great. I have added it to my list of books to read.
