Your mention of the glossary at the back of the book is a great point; it's wonderful when authors provide those resources for a richer understanding. Your review has sparked my interest in the book, and I'm eager to dive into these powerful poems that offer a different perspective on the Syrian conflict.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts

- There's always the other side, two sides to every story and that's what grabbed my interest here. A wonderful review. Thank you.We have all seen the Syrian Civil War reported on news stories. We are appalled at what is happening. Gasping with disbelief at the war-torn scenery and saddened by refugees escaping from their homes. However, this collection of poems gives the other side of these stories. People's lives continue. They have to work, marry, care for their families, and try and keep themselves safe and sane.

These poems serve as a mirror that allows us to comprehend what it must be like to continue life under these dire circumstances. I commend the author for sharing these experiences with us.
