Incredible book, I say this as a mother who also lost her son ( 2011).
I relate to Sherine Anniruth in this regard. Such a loss makes a huge difference in a mother's life.
It is encouraging that she has shared the journey of her time with Nadeem, particularly when he received his cancer diagnosis. I am certain many people going through similar experiences will feel connected to such a book.

Your review is great and very touching, like the book itself. I sampled the first chapter, about Nadeem's infancy, later school years, his fascination with fire engine, bin truck and cricket, his love and protective care for his siblings, the family's move from South Africa to Australia, and the onset of Nadeem's health problems. I agree with your comment that the language is very straightforward, and the mother's relentless love for Nadeem shines through every episode. I also agree that the photographs are very relevant and illustrate the episodes. I liked your comment that nothing should be taken for granted in life, and that Nadeem's story illustrates this. Surely, this is an all-star read.
