It seems like a very emotional and heartbreaking story of a mother and son. Reviewing is amazing, so I really want to experience the journey of a loving mother and her dying son. It also speaks about the ground reality of medical services. So thank you for the great review.

Nadeem's resilience in the face of adversity is nothing short of remarkable, and his story serves as a beacon of hope for anyone navigating similar challenges. Sherine's heartfelt tribute to her son is both heartbreaking and uplifting, leaving a lasting impact on readers.

As you say, we never know what the future holds and if we will get another chance to finish what we started. I can’t imagine what Ms. Anniruth dealt with. Congratulations on BOTD!

This is not just an account of a mother losing her beloved son to cancer but also of relentless love. This is the celebration of a hero who fought bravely and persisted in being strong even during the lowest moments. It vividly describes how Nadeem’s family, friends, and colleagues enthusiastically supported him. However, the reader will also be exposed to real cases of negligence and its detrimental effects. You will be left wondering what would have happened if things had been handled differently and more carefully.
There’s a lot I could say about an emotional, heart-wrenching narrative such as this one. However, these statements alone tells me everything I need to know about how I personally would respond to it and that is with the heaviest of hearts (for multiple reasons). Reading this would definitely take some mental preparation before diving in!

The book sounds poignant and heartwrenching telling us the story of Nadeem’s life and struggle against cancer. But
books about diseases and death are not for me. Still I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Thank you for a good review.
Incredible book, I say this as a mother who also lost her son ( 2011).
I relate to Sherine Anniruth in this regard. Such a loss makes a huge difference in a mother's life.
It is encouraging that she has shared the journey of her time with Nadeem, particularly when he received his cancer diagnosis. I am certain many people going through similar experiences will feel connected to such a book.
This book sounds heart-wrenching and inspiring!
Congratulations to the author for putting this one out to the world!

Your review is great and very touching, like the book itself. I sampled the first chapter, about Nadeem's infancy, later school years, his fascination with fire engine, bin truck and cricket, his love and protective care for his siblings, the family's move from South Africa to Australia, and the onset of Nadeem's health problems. I agree with your comment that the language is very straightforward, and the mother's relentless love for Nadeem shines through every episode. I also agree that the photographs are very relevant and illustrate the episodes. I liked your comment that nothing should be taken for granted in life, and that Nadeem's story illustrates this. Surely, this is an all-star read.

Losing a family member to cancer is heartbreaking, but losing a child who hadn't gotten to experience all life has to offer is a pain that never leaves a parent's heart. Sherine tells her son's story, as well as her own, in this beautiful book. Thanks for the review!
