I like that the book can be read as a standalone. At least, I don't have to read the first one to flow with this. However, with the synopsis I've read, I might have to read the first and the rest in series.

The Devil Among Us” is the title of the book wriiten by Jack Winnick, which is mainly focus on the tale of the New York City skyscraper synagogue. This tragedy of a sequence, the pages of a book turn to death after a bomb is dropped, having in its wake a devastating effect on a great number of the population. When the attention was on the FBI, the FBI's special agent Lara Edmond and the Mossad agent Uri Levin were enlisted into the investigation by their bosses and lost many hours as well as days trying to solve it. The implication here is that they (terrorists from countries of Islamic nations) might have arrived in a new land and the incident (Brooklyn bomb) created an enormous upheaval in the stability of the world. The darker background of the plot, more suspicions arise, for example, to examine the shape of the story which might be designed to defend USA for not helping its closest ally in this case- Israel. Iran chose to sit its long-range missile on Tel Aviv, what's the connection between this event and the explosion in the New York Synagogue, and why such a thing was arranged.
The authos suddenly turns the whole story the opposite way by changing into omniscient viewpoint to make the storytelling more pictorial and full of dramatic scenes. Since those characters act differently and flashback makes the story more difficult to grasp, it’s not easy to follow. Note that Winnick is the only character who materializes his substantial understanding of the specific issues associated with the former Soviet Union while he compares the international relationships between the United States and Middle East in the World War II to the recent conflicts in USSR. It could be mentioned that, to provide an example of another form of back-up, the above historical outline manifests the results of many clashes and biases.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting thriller and excellent addition to Mr. Winnick's series, which follows two government agents, Lara and Uri, as they track down and prevent future terrorist activities. In this book, these two agents are tasked with discovering who attacked a New York Synagogue and what the group is planning to do next. It is worth a second look. Well done.

A fast-paced thriller centred around terrorist attacks is right up my alley at the current juncture. It seems that the author has not only managed to put together a great story but also wows us with his far-reaching knowledge of the histories and politics associated with the conflict which the book is based on.

“Devil Among Us” by Jack Winnick is an amazing thriller with plenty of Lara and Uri action. Book 2 out of 5 and it is a well written fictional book about Islamic terrorist attacks against Jews in America. This story takes place in New York where bombs are detonated in a Synagogue during services and hundreds of innocent Jews are killed and injured. The suspects were in the Synagogue but the group responsible are Islamic terrorists. Is Iran behind this with a plan to attack Israel? I highly recommend members read this international thriller and Jack’s other four books.
