This review provides a compelling summary of *Cruel Lessons*, highlighting its suspenseful plot and character development. The story’s focus on drug use in schools and its impact is portrayed effectively. However, potential readers should be prepared for the intense themes of child abuse and tragedy.

Thanks for the review. It's short and informative. The right combination for a review. I know now this book is not for me. Keep up the good work.

This book tackles the critical issue of drug use in schools through a suspenseful and engaging narrative. The story follows Assistant Superintendent Ken Park's efforts to uncover the truth behind a tragic accident and clear the name of a compassionate teacher wrongly accused. The book's exploration of how schools handle drug problems also adds a thought-provoking layer. Nice review.

Thank you for the great review of Cruel Lessons" by Randy Overbeck. I, too, hope that any school district would be more interested in protecting children than their own interests but we all know that is often not the case. Drugs in schools are dangerous and difficult to find and eradicate. This book sounds like a solid mystery without filler and with unexpected twists to the plot. I am not sure, from your review, that I understand why you deducted a star.

Just by reading your review I'm super intrigued about this book and this new type of tattoos. It seems like a good lesson for teenagers for prevention of drug missuse. This book sounds like a very fresh concept. I also like the thriller and mystery books that keeps me on the edge till the end. I'm going to check this one out.

The plot sounds intriguing! I really want to find out whether Jennifer is truly innocent. Thanks for the great review. However, I'm a bit curious why the book is rated only 4 out of 5?

After the tragic death of four young boys in a car accident during a school camping trip due to drug use, Determined to find the source of the drugs, the school collaborates with law enforcement. However, the school's concern for its reputation over the students' deaths threatens to jeopardize the police's mission.

I enjoyed the suspense and the compelling storyline. I’m not sure why you didn't rate the book five stars, but I hope it wasn't due to the suspense, as it adds excitement and keeps readers engaged. The rising use of drugs among schoolchildren is alarming, and accountability is lacking. Parents need to step up for their children, and schools treating such issues lightly should be investigated and sanctioned.

The book introduces a revolutionary drug—a tattooed drug that induces a high. I sincerely hope this never becomes a reality, as the drug war is already challenging enough. We can only hope and pray for improvement. Thank you for the great review. I enjoyed reading it. Congratulations to the author on BOTD!

“Cruel Lessons” by Randy Overbeck is a story about four teenage boys that tragically died in a car crash while on a drug that was administered via a tattoo that was placed on the arm and the drugs penetrated the user’s skin. This event occurred on a school camping trip late at night after lights out and the four teens snuck out of their cabin, took one of the boy's father’s Camaro Z-28 for a joy ride, administered the tattoo drugs, drove the car at a high speed, lost control and crashed in the woods. Two boys were ejected from the car, one went halfway through the windshield and the driver, not old enough to drive, was killed by the force of the engine going through the car after the car struck a tree. The school had been experiencing drug problems and the principal and his staff were trying to identify how the drugs were getting into the school. The sample kept me on the edge of my seat, and I never did find out what happened to Amanda when her brakes failed. I need to read the entire book.

Your review describes a fascinating novel that keeps one guessing to the end. Tattoos dispensing drugs absorbed through the skin sound dangerous, as I don't think it's very common. It must be difficult for schools and parents to keep drugs away from kids, who are adventurous and like to explore new things. Thank you for your comprehensive review.

Drug abuse has been common in schools, and it's a habit that has affected many youths today. I find this book to be a valuable resource for educators and parents to better understand the signs of drug abuse and how to prevent it in schools. I hope the book offers practical strategies for intervention and support for students struggling with substance abuse issues. I will read the book.

Thanks for your insightful review. Randy Overbeck's "Cruel Lessons" deals with an important matter. Drug use by students probably led to their deaths during a school trip is tragic. The school district needs to be more concerned about the students. Congrats on BOTD.
