I enjoyed your review. I wonder how Jamaica was back then. My husband and I went there in the 90s, and we were very disappointed. You couldn't go anywhere without people begging you for money or trying to get you to buy weed. They also warned you not to go wandering off by yourself. Always have a couple of people with you, as they will beat you up and steal your valuables. Anyway, the book sounds interesting, and perhaps I will pick it up and give it a try.
