I'm now finishing up Blood and Gold by Anne Rice; after I'm done, I'll have read every one of the VCs. I tried reading this book years ago, grew bored with it, and placed it aside. I'm glad I gave it a second chance because I'm in love with it now.

I just finished a two book series by Karen Miller last night. They were called The Innocent Mage and The Awakened Mage, part of the Kingmaker, Kingbreaker series. They were very good books, I've read them before. Fantasy genre from a different world, but very good. I would recommend them if you have an interest in fantasy.

I haven't read many of Rice's books, but have you read "Memnoch the Devil"? She isn't really my genre, but that book was interesting- like "Angels & Demons"

Just finished "Schindler's Ark" - Thomas Keneally, and "The Lovely Bones" - Alice Sebold. I am now starting "The gormenghast trilogy" - Mervyn Peake.

I read Memnoch the Devil several years ago, but many details are still fresh in my mind, as though it were yesterday. You're right, it was very interesting; she took a completely different route with that particular book. That's when Lestat had his religious epiphany, though unfortunately his character went slightly down hill from that moment on.

Ah, see, I was wondering if I should bother reading the rest of Lestat's series. I don't usually enjoy her books, or that genre- but was hoping that I would still like the others. I really like Lestat. I think he's a great character.

^ Yes, he is; she really gave him a soul in The Vampire Lestat. I enjoy reading his philosophical rants.

I started Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë last night. It is still too early in the game to form a real opinion of it.

I'm currently reading Tithe by Holly Black it's technically a teen read but it's such a great twist on faeries I couldn't resist.

Just finished my second reading of "A Suitable Boy", it will always be one of my favorite books. Looking over some of the other reviews here I see that this 1474 page novel has been called "just" an Indian soap opera, and while I think soap-opera may be an apt description, it is one of the best books I have ever read. This novel reminded me of an old fashioned English novel in the style of Dickens or Trollope or Eliot, with a large cast of characters, a thick tome with many divergent plot lines that are eventually tied together by the ending, an incredible journey for a reader. They just don't write them this way any more. An Indian will love it.

I'm about 65 pages into Hold Tight by Harlan Coben and it's pretty good so far - it sucks you in.

L-O-V-E that book! :D

I've read it so many times that I know almost the whole thing by heart. I love how it's edgy, yet sophisticated at the same time. I have never read any book like it in my life. Be sure to read the sequel, Ironside, once you finished up Tithe.
