American Coastguards, UNST & The B.P. Oily Blacks (1978) by Dave Husband is a Biography about a few stories encountered in the 21st century while working on construction sites. It deals with the good, the bad, and the nasty humor. 2018 saw the demise of one of the biggest players: Carillion's philosophy was replicated by the Post Office. It's a Great Read.

AMERICAN COASTGUARDS UNST & THE B.P. OILY BLACKS (1978) by Dave Husband A quirky chronicle of life in the UK enjoyable reading and unforgettably exhilarating highlights of this retrospective. From young apprentice quantity surveyor to what he experienced in the construction industry alongside the American coastguards, creates an interesting read. It also chronicles the events and players in modern history that make Dave's life so meaningful. Great for a memoir lover, straightforward prose, and a brief, but vivid tale.

It sounds like Dave had an eventful life in the construction industry. It must have been exciting to befriend the American coastguard and play on their rugby team. He also became familiar with many places in the UK. Thank you for your informative review.

Non fiction books are not my cup of tea but the book sounds very informative. Due to his involvement in the construction business the author has travelled to a lot of places, met a lot of interesting people and I'm sure has plenty of stories to share. The book will definitely find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

This book offers a captivating account of Dave Husband lively life in the United Kingdom. It presents a fascinating narrative filled with humor as well as thrilling, positive, and negative experiences. At the age of 16, he began his career as an apprentice quantity surveyor in the construction sector and later moved on to work in Liverpool. Over the years, Dave took on contracts across England, Scotland, and Wales. He faced numerous experiences throughout his journey.
He has had some experiences, for example in the Shetland Islands he met and became friends with US Coast Guard personnel and had some memorable times especially with their Rugby team "B.P." Dave spent time with the Coast Guard while traveling for Rugby matches which led to adventures at the Penguin Club, Sergeant's Mess, Balta Sound Hotel and Saxaford Camp. Dave has enjoyed his life in the construction industry, recording the worst and best of times whilst working on contracts all over the UK.

The book seems to be a poignant tale of Dave's experiences. The book's conciseness is appealing to me because I personally don't like memoirs that are too long. Also the life of Dave sounds quite eventful from what the review portrayed. I'm certain it's a great read.

Many individuals write memoirs that document extraordinary journeys. This time, it's Dave Husband, a Scotsman, recounting his adventures in "𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘊𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴, 𝘜𝘕𝘚𝘛 & 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘉.𝘗. 𝘖𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘉𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘴 (1978)". His work in the construction industry led him to collaborate with the United States Coast Guard in the United Kingdom, a remarkable journey he felt compelled to document. Thanks for your insightful review. You loved every "enjoyable and horrifying moments" of the memoir. I'm confident many others will find equal pleasure in reading it. Congratulations to the author on BOTD status.
