I have. In my line of work, you meet quite a few. I've met mostly kids authors, though. Some include Brandon Mull, Shannon Hale, Richard Paul Evans, and Bree Despain. They were all pretty nice. I also met fantasy author L.E. Modesitt, but he was rather rude and quite the diva, even for being a guy. Which was too bad. I loved his writing, but I can't stand divas, so I quit reading his works. Have you guys met any authors like him that are total divas?

I met Mary B. Morrison at an Essence Festival one year. It was the weirdest experience because I was trying to play down my excitement in meeting her and she was convinced that she knew me from somewhere in her/my family.

I have never met a famous author before. I am married to a self-published author who is working on his third book. I am also friends with two other self-published authors. One of those has an online company that sells out of print Christian books and Southern history books.

Before he came out for his Q&A, he wandered off somewhere in the library and nobody could find him for a good half an hour; Apparently when they finally found him, he was sitting in the kid's section, reading.
Later, while he was signing my book, he looked up and noticed that I was wearing a strand of pearls, and a button down blouse (I tend to overdress when I'm nervous... I was very nervous.) He said that he was flattered that I dressed up so nice to come see him, and then apologized for only wearing jeans and a hoodie to meet me.
All you people who have met John Green are so lucky. I am sooo jealous! #oneday

No, sadly not. But Sophie Kinsella is doing a book tour for the next Shopaholic installment and I would literally give anything to meet her.

I used to see Tim Powers every Wednesday.
He's my role model and one of my favorite human beings. I think he's absolutely brilliant, on and off the page.

I've also met Neil Gaiman, who was a cool cat. I enjoy his writing, his smooth reading voice, and his kindness to his fans. He's a good guy, and I wouldn't mind seeing him again.

And then I've met George R.R. Martin. He talked a lot, so much more than necessary, and was pretty self-congratulatory. But then again, if I wrote Game of Thrones I'd be damn self-congratulatory too.

Yes! I met Melissa de la Cruz at a book signing. It was a last minute thing but I was so glad I got to do it!
I also recently met Amy Conner. She was in my local bookstore. I didn't even know there was a book signing!!!

Yes, I have. She's a Filipina named Rebecca Anonuevo. She gave a lecture at the Center for Creative Writing and Studies at the University of Santo Tomas in Espana, Manila, Philippines. She also had a book launching, and I personally went up to her together with my friend.

I met R. L. Stine when I was younger at a book signing for his book Beware!
He's a really nice guy and is great with kids even though it's his job to scare them with his stories.
My friend told him he was left-handed and they bonded over being lefties.

I've met Megan Hart at a book signing. Apparently she lives close by me and was featured in our local authors section at our bookstore. She's very cool.
