All you people who have met John Green are so lucky. I am sooo jealous! #oneday221b wrote:I had the chance to meet John Green at a signing at the Cincinnati Library last autumn, and he was just as laidback and genuine as he appears in his Vlogbrothers videos.
Before he came out for his Q&A, he wandered off somewhere in the library and nobody could find him for a good half an hour; Apparently when they finally found him, he was sitting in the kid's section, reading.![]()
Later, while he was signing my book, he looked up and noticed that I was wearing a strand of pearls, and a button down blouse (I tend to overdress when I'm nervous... I was very nervous.) He said that he was flattered that I dressed up so nice to come see him, and then apologized for only wearing jeans and a hoodie to meet me.

He's my role model and one of my favorite human beings. I think he's absolutely brilliant, on and off the page.
I've also met Neil Gaiman, who was a cool cat. I enjoy his writing, his smooth reading voice, and his kindness to his fans. He's a good guy, and I wouldn't mind seeing him again.
And then I've met George R.R. Martin. He talked a lot, so much more than necessary, and was pretty self-congratulatory. But then again, if I wrote Game of Thrones I'd be damn self-congratulatory too.

I also recently met Amy Conner. She was in my local bookstore. I didn't even know there was a book signing!!!

He's a really nice guy and is great with kids even though it's his job to scare them with his stories.
My friend told him he was left-handed and they bonded over being lefties.
