I really love ;
The English Patient, The Painted Veil, North & South (English series based on the book by Catherine Gaskell), The Duchess, Atonement, Jane Eyre (2008).
Reading the books is also stirring, this is because there are often moments or images that are not portrayed in the movies, which sometimes takes away from the story.

I read this book first, and although think that the book is much more satisfying than the movie, they did a really good job with this one.
The camera angle that they use as Marley is "slipping away" really gives tangibility to the experience of what it feels like to lose a beloved pet. I tear up just thinking about it.

Really? I did enjoy The Lovely Bone but felt the movie worked well as a fantasy thriller rather than an overwrought weepie, i cant recall any scenes which tugged on my heart strings. Of note to me is the fate of Stanley Gucci, which i remember the mostParanoidIdealDodo wrote:My Sister's Keeper, Lovely Bones, PS I Love You and 500 Days Of Summer (I felt for Tom) . There's also this Singaporean Mandarin-language film released in 2003, Homerun. Those made me cry my heart out.
