18th century Gothic authors such as J. S. Le Fanu

J.S Le Fanu was a nineteenth century author. Famous Gothic authors of the eighteenth century would be Ann Radcliffe, Matthew Lewis, Horace Walpole etc.

Would Johann Wolfgang von Goethe fit in there? I know he wrote some gothic fiction. Also Henry James comes to mind, his "Turn of the Screw". I don't exactly remember the year but it was included in the same group as Le Fanu and Goethe on one of my courses, so it should be somewhere in there.

The only thing by him I have read is "Turn of the Screw", so I can't speak for the other stories. Hopefully they're good though!
