Would Johann Wolfgang von Goethe fit in there? I know he wrote some gothic fiction. Also Henry James comes to mind, his "Turn of the Screw". I don't exactly remember the year but it was included in the same group as Le Fanu and Goethe on one of my courses, so it should be somewhere in there.Johnnytwins wrote:I would like to know of any writers who may fit this area of writing.

I have a Henry James novel on my bookshelf that I hate to admit that I haven't read it yet. I'll move it up on my TBR list.Rockinroller wrote:Would Johann Wolfgang von Goethe fit in there? The only thing by him I have read is "Turn of the Screw", so I can't speak for the other stories. Hopefully they're good though!Mairin wrote:I have a Henry James novel on my bookshelf that I hate to admit that I haven't read it yet.
