1. Mops are a germ breeding ground.StephenKingman wrote:Yeah but wood floors are healthier than all those bacteria-breeding and dust keeping carpetsEuphoriameantime wrote:I`d just like to say, I hate wood floors and sweeping 5 times a day and constantly having cheerios and crackers stuck to my feet.
2. Germs are good!

3. No body ever slipped in a puddle of juice on carpet.
Not to mention scratches and gouges and the waxes and stains and sanding.
I got my kid a broom and mop for his birthday

Yeah but health wise its better for you not to have dust mite particles under your feet, it may aggravate asthma, also carpet is harder to maintain. But if comfort is your king, go for it.Euphoriameantime wrote:1. I've never had problem with carpets except the odd spill, but never a stain, or mold. If you have asthma or indoor allergies, I can see it as a problem.Bighuey wrote:I had carpets but I got rid of them, all they were was dust and dirt catchers and mould was a problem too. I replaced them with ceramic tile and that is a lot easier to maintain. As for my mop. I hang it outside to dry.
But children who live in too sterile an environment are at greater risk for asthma and allergies

The problem here is that this is desert country, and there is a lot of dust, the wind blows constantly and the humidity is high, also one of my dogs is 21 years old and has a lot of accidents before I can get her out so for me carpets are not practical. Everyone here has tile floors. If I lived in a drier dust-free climate I would definetly have carpets. They just dont work here.Fran wrote:Clean dirt ...
