Just finished reading the sample & I must say, those first few pages had my heart feeling warm. The bond of them as a family, both Charlene with his father & then Kent with his family, it was beautiful. A very inspiring & smile inducing book. I hope people would get to see the magic that is within these pages & the lessons it speaks. Goodluck!

Death is painful to us bereaved. But knowing that our departed have gone to a better place where they await us brings much hope.

This truth is related through the book of Char's dad (whom I presume to be Kent). In it, he chronicles how he and his family met the challenges of the Depression.

I expect to be inspired by this book of hope.

This is the kind of book I enjoy: something that makes you feel exactly the way the characters are feeling. Truly inspirational!

Love the way you have worded the review!

Review: I'll point to Heaven - Rhett G Wintch

The title piqued my interest and the excellent review lured me in. I was not disappointed! I started to read the sample and as I got to know the characters I was gently drawn into their lives. This is a well written historical fiction book of love, family, hard-work, courage, integrity, endurance and faith. It illustrates that there is good in everyone. I liked the fact that it was a story within a story and the re-telling helped Charlene through a difficult time. I think it is a good story for young adults to seniors as it covers the lives of four young people through the Depression years, their struggles and challenges, how they got through it and how it forged them into the adults they became. It reminds me of a beautiful quilt, the story about each of the four main characters is carefully put together, interwoven and the result is magical.

I like historical fiction, but especially, I like hearing that all the characters are well-developed and inspiring. I also look forward to finding out how the characters grow and build relationships during the Great Depression. I'll be sure to give this a read. Thanks for the review!

Thanks for the review. However, I don't think this is one for me; the free sample didn't grab my attention and so I'll be giving it a miss :)

Thank you for your review! I'm really interested in the approach the author has taken to illustrate truths about love, family, and most of all, God — and where He is in loss. Looking forward to reading this one.

I think this book is too sweet and insirational for my taste. But the book describes a very interesting and important period in the American history, the Great Depression. It is really the time people could survive only with the help and support of their family and the loved ones. I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

review of "I'll Point to Heaven" by Rhett G. Wintch.
The book narrates a historical fiction story about a strong well defined character who submerged by the misfortune of loosing a loved one.
She was in despair to the extent of seeking advice on how to cope with the pain from her father who had lost his beloved wife.who inturn tells her the story of him and his other 3 youth friends how they met, grew up together and later fall in love . I would recommend the book to any reader who likes a historical fiction book based on friendship and love

I like the aspect of people going through trials as a family. Looking at the cover, I thought this book would be more religious which is why it intrigued me, but after reading your review it seems like it's more about a family enduring hardships and pushing past them and not so much involving God. It still seems like it could be an uplifting book which I enjoy from time to time.

The review has explained it all.. The book is a creative piece of write up that best explains family values, love and strength to overcome in times of difficulties. The story in a story has a good and inspiring character build up.
I will surely read this.
Nice review . Congratulations on BOD.
