This truth is related through the book of Char's dad (whom I presume to be Kent). In it, he chronicles how he and his family met the challenges of the Depression.
I expect to be inspired by this book of hope.

The title piqued my interest and the excellent review lured me in. I was not disappointed! I started to read the sample and as I got to know the characters I was gently drawn into their lives. This is a well written historical fiction book of love, family, hard-work, courage, integrity, endurance and faith. It illustrates that there is good in everyone. I liked the fact that it was a story within a story and the re-telling helped Charlene through a difficult time. I think it is a good story for young adults to seniors as it covers the lives of four young people through the Depression years, their struggles and challenges, how they got through it and how it forged them into the adults they became. It reminds me of a beautiful quilt, the story about each of the four main characters is carefully put together, interwoven and the result is magical.

The book narrates a historical fiction story about a strong well defined character who submerged by the misfortune of loosing a loved one.
She was in despair to the extent of seeking advice on how to cope with the pain from her father who had lost his beloved wife.who inturn tells her the story of him and his other 3 youth friends how they met, grew up together and later fall in love . I would recommend the book to any reader who likes a historical fiction book based on friendship and love
